In July of 2006 Bridport Classic Bike Club together with the Riverside Court Day Centre held the first display of motorbikes with various tombola's, bric-a-brac stalls, plant and cake sales and, not least, the "guess the total ages" of the clients of the Riverside Court Day Centre.

What is the Riverside Court Day Centre and why do they need money!

Riverside Court Day Centre caters for the elderly, helping them to maintain their independence at home and remain living in the community, currently 44 people attend the day centre over a five day period.
On arrival they enjoy a hot drink and chat and then we have a quiz, crossword or some other metal activity. They will eat a nutritious meal and in the afternoon another activity is undertaken in the form of an outing, game, talk or an entertainer will visit for an hour.
They return home at 3.30pm.
We, the staff, need to fundraise to provide monies to fund a Christmas lunch, outings and entertainments. Throughout the year we contact speakers and entertainers who visit.
Thus we hope to provide our "service users" with a "fun" day out relieving social isolation and depression, providing mental stimulation, monitoring their wellbeing and giving their Carers respite.
